Incredible Fimo Cat Mama.
These animals are created by Jon Anderson using colored Fimo clay. Every color in each design is actually a different piece of clay. There is absolutely no paint! He uses a technique based on the Millifiore method of glassmaking and combines different colored canes of clay to create and illustration roughly the size and shape of a loaf of bread. The central design is repeatedly stretched and cut as other designs are added. The composite image is finally reduced by further stretching to size of a small coin and then cut and applied much like mosaic tiles to the animal’s form. Each and every stage is done entirely by hand. Because each piece is handmade, no two pieces are exactly the same.
Jon Anderson got started in Sedona, Arizona but now resides in Bali, Indonesia where this piece was made.
Each piece comes individually boxed with an information card explaining the process.
The cat mama measures 5" x 3"
